I'm a SWM in my thirties and just seeking Looking to spend free weekend in ny get a blowjob by an attractive female without breaking the bank.
Our Walk on the Beach m4w That's where it started.
When my friends visit New York City , they want to see it all. They have laundry lists of places to visit, things to do, restaurants to eat and bars to drink at! The city, home to over 8. However, there are ways to make the most of the limited time we have. So, as I get ready to leave NYC after living here for 3. You can also explore the ruins of the old fort that kept watch over New York City.
Battery Park is large and hectic, but I still love walking through here. There are tremendous views of the harbor, too. Wall Street Take a photo with the famous bull and then walk to Wall Street and see where all those bankers destroyed the economy. I especially love the old vaults of Customs House.
Housed in a historic bank building on Wall Street of course! If you want to understand the workings of what happens on Wall Street, this is a perfect place to start. Trinity Church Trinity Church is one of the oldest churches in America. The original building burned down in , but the current church is still beautiful, with an ornate gothic style structure. On the elevator up, you can also see images of the historical development of NYC.
At the bottom of the tower is a park commemorating the victims of the attacks along with an extensive museum. I live in NYC so I know it well! Stopping to take photos and meandering along the way will make the walk about 40 minutes. Pre-reserved tours are typically offered for groups 10—20 people on Mondays and Tuesdays at There are also first-come, first-served tours on Wednesdays at 12pm.
The s art deco interior is beautiful, and the view from the top is breathtaking. You can get a real feel for how densely populated New York is as you stare out at the city. Get here early or during lunchtime to avoid the lines and tour groups. It was going to be torn down in but was saved by Jacqueline Kennedy, who raised money for its preservation.
There are free historical tours on Wednesdays. What do they do? And for fancy and expensive cocktails, visit the Campbell Apartments and step back into the s dress code enforced. The space was once the office of John W. Rockefeller Center This area is always filled with hustle and bustle. Times Square No matter when you go to Times Square, it will be packed with people usually other tourists.
There are pedestrian areas where you can sit and hang out. Central Park The perfect way to relax in the city and leave the crowds behind is to spend the day in Central Park. During the summer months, there are often free concerts and theater productions line up early for tickets to Shakespeare in the Park. From the late spring to the early fall, there are free guided walks run by the parks service on Saturdays at 11am. It has a wide array of art, historical artifacts, photographs, and other exhibits.
I like its expansive impressionist and Greek exhibits. American Museum of Natural History Made even more famous by the Night at the Museum movies, this museum also requires a lot of time. My favorite is the one on the origin of humans. Learning about how we came to be is fascinating. They have really detailed exhibitions on the origin of the universe. The Frick Collection This collection features paintings by major European artists lots of Dutch masters here as well as 18th-century French furniture and Oriental rugs.
You have to really love Dutch artists to want to spend time here I do but be sure to visit their website because they do a lot of wonderful temporary exhibits featuring famous works of art. The Guggenheim Museum This museum is home to a renowned collection of impressionist, post-impressionist, early modern, and contemporary art. Current highlights and my favorites include:.
They also have an app where you can see what they offer too! It took me years to finally see it, and I kicked myself for waiting so long. It was built with Rockefeller money from parts of five European abbeys between and They even stipulated that the land across the river would forever remain undeveloped so the view would be unspoiled! The building and its stunning cloistered garden are very, very peaceful and beautiful.
There are free tours each day that explain the history of the museum and the paintings and exhibits. I hate modern art. How is shovel on a wall art? On Fridays after 4pm, the museum is free and I like seeing Van Gogh for free! It goes from 34th Street down to the Meatpacking District and vice versa. Lined with overlooks, gardens, public art, food stalls, and greenery, this walk is one of the best things to do in the city, especially on a nice day. Go for a walk, sit with a book, people-watch — the High Line is a must-see and a true favorite among locals.
But I would recommend going inside as there is a wonderful exhibit of American art. You can only visit this museum via guided tours and they need to be booked in advance.
If you like it, there is a tour revolving around it. Be sure to take one of the many, many walking tours the city has to offer to get a unique and cultural look at the city that never sleeps from a local guide. I always take my friends on at least one when they visit. This post lists my favorite NYC walking tours. Spend the afternoon discovering its vast collection of both historic and contemporary art and artifacts.
Bronx Zoo — Head north for a look at one of the oldest and biggest zoos in the United States. NYC has some world-class sports teams.
See a TV Show! New York City is a big place with a lot to do and this list barely scratches the surface. Four days is barely enough to squeeze these activities in, let alone find time to visit boroughs like Queens and Brooklyn.
If you have the time, I recommend staying for at least five days. Unfortunately, back then, I was quite attracted by Century 21 and wasted at least half a day shopping for clothes! You might want to fix one thing: New Yorkers should not get this wrong! The station is the post office next door to it. Looks like you pay one price then squeeze in whatever you can!
The itinerary Matts has suggested will have you fall in Love with this amazing city. Sounds like you are all booked — an experience you will never forget. Good work Matt Cheers from Aus. I have been back to NY probably 30 times and it never bores me. Going back in two months. Any suggestions for other otbp type experiences?
I lived in NYC for five years and have only done about half of these things — and I only got to the Statue of Liberty for the first time a few months ago! Delicious food and even better atmosphere. I would strongly suggest that your readers pick one or two options at the most for each day or risk adding one more NYC experience: New York seems like the sort of place where you can get overwhelmed by all of the things to see and do.
Wow, a great and busy schedule! We definitely have to return. This is such a great guide! Great itinerary for a first time visitor. I try to only pick things to do each day.
Matt and team , do you guys have suggestions for bike rentals in Central Park? Last time I walked every where. As someone who writes regularly about NYC, I would recommend a completely different itinerary so people can experience some of the local culture. What about strolling through the West Village, exploring the food scene in the East Village, or shopping in Williamsburg? I think hitting a few major attractions is essential for every tourist, but they also want to do the city like a local.
I will be there for 4 days this August. My first time in the USA! I really appreciated this post, especially because my wife and I are wanting to take a short trip to NYC together. My wife is big into Broadway shows, so I appreciated your tip about finding discounted theater tickets.
Thanks for sharing this./p>
The owner always goes out of his way to be accommodating - and the house is always spotless upon arrival. We have stayed in a few other Cooperstown houses and this one blows them away. Thanks for your kind words. We truly appreciate guests like you who so fully enjoy our home. Our group of 10 women enjoyed cooking, relaxing in front of the fire, easy hiking in the adjacent park, kayaking and shopping in Cooperstown. A perfect place for a getaway weekend.
The dining table is awesome. Kitchen was well equipped. It's really interesting to see how many different types of groups are now choosing vacation home rentals vs.
The one common theme is they all recognize the benefit of enjoying each others company in a more relaxed setting than can be found in a hotel.
We'e so glad you, too, enjoyed your stay! A hidden paradise and gem, nestled and tucked away on the Otsego lake!!! The place speaks charm and tranquility!!! The house is divine!!! You do not have to leave the property Among our friends, the joke is "Brian, did the paid to stay option Hmmm, Not certain what some of this review really means This place is over the top.
Its setting is spectacular. Its grounds are conducive to family games or quiet reading places. Its interior spaces are well planned and spacious. And the lakefront offered waterfront frolics for both kids and adults. There were 11 of us, grandparents, parents and children and were never crowded in the main house.
We rented the floating trampoline which was used 6 of the 7 days. The fire pit was fun at night, providing a perfect location for multi-generational camaraderie.
The property's proximity to Glimmerglass State Park enabled us to walk or jog on a level surface. We even paddled a canoe and kayak from the dock to the beach at the state park. Cooperstown is a lovely village to visit during the summer.
We hope to return. Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful experience. Your comments do an excellent job of summarizing the enjoyment our home offers. We look forward to welcoming you back again! Great house for a few families staying together. The extra apartment is a great addition. We enjoyed the lake getaway when we were not at Cooperstown Dreams Park. Lots of families come to Cooperstown to watch their children play at one of the local baseball camps. We think nothing can be better than returning to a lakeside log home to cool off in the crystal clear water and to enjoy our serene country location!
The Treehouse and Birdhouse were perfect. Our families took full advantage of the lake and nearby state park. Perfect place to stay for families coming for the cooperstown dreams park events. Glimmerglass State Park is such a great resource, and just like our lake, it is really under-utilized. This means uncrowded beach and trails and easy access to the basketball and sand volleyball court. Its fun to be able to kayak right to the beach and to explore the stream AS baseball lovers, we were so looking forward to our trip to Cooperstown.
The Treehouse was great for our large group of It was beautifully situated right on the lake for some lake fun but only minutes from everything in Cooperstown. And so clean and well equipped. The owner could not have been more helpful with all the detaisl to make a short stay of just two nights seems like a real vacation.
We will definitely come back again. Our college reunion was amazing! The Treehouse and accompanying Birdhouse were luxurious and spotless and perfect for our large group! We are already planning our next trip! It was sheer perfection in every way! I rented this home for a business meeting with my team. Rather than stay at the normal hotels and have meetings in conference rooms, I wanted a more relaxed atmosphere to promote open dialogue and comfortableness.
The property was perfect! Rather than say goodnight at the elevator and go their separate ways at the end of the day, the team forged relationships and exchanged ideas sitting around the fire by the lake, preparing meals, or even watching a movie in the family room!
With the Hall Of Fame just down the street, this was an easy theme to build into the business meeting and bring back a little bit of our youth when remembering players of the past.
Overall, this was a very successful meeting with the home serving as the primary catalyst. Bill was great every step of the way and my team and I left feeling great professionally and personally.
More than ever, business people are realizing the benefits of escaping to a big, comfortable home in which to host their meetings. Forget the stark conference room or the hotel prepared meals. Instead, make use of the various spaces in any one of our lodges for break-out sessions and the reconvene in the great room to share ideas.
Our private chef is available to prepare your meals, or perhaps to host a cooking class to be used as a team-building event. Whatever type of business, we are ready to assist in planning your event!
After a long cold winter, Spring finally sprang just in time for your visit! What a perfect time to reunite with old friends and rekindle relationships. We hope to welcome you back to experience Cooperstown when the leaves are green or vibrant red, or when the ground is covered in white!
The pictures can't fully describe how beautiful this cabin is. My friends and I group of 12 people stayed there during President's Day weekend and our group really enjoyed our stay. All of my friends really loved this cabin and complimented how beautiful is the decoration, the interior, and cleanliness. This place was very luxurious and everything is fully stocked and well-put. I can't recommend enough for other groups staying here, I wonder how great this place must be during summer time.
I noticed that there are life jackets provided for kayaking during summer months. Although it was snowing during our stay, but we've such a great time for bonding inside the cabin and it's very warm inside, thanks to the heating radiant floor throughout the whole cabin. Bill is such a great host to us, although in the beginning he seems skeptical to rent his cabin to us a group of young adults , however, after everything was booked, he is very accommodating and easy to to communicate, considering we drove from New York on Friday night and arrived there around 1am, he is very flexible about the checkout time.
Thank you Bill for helping us to call the snowplower to plow the driveway since our van was having difficulty of climbing up the driveway. Some points I would like to bring to your attention would be that the water from the kitchen faucet had some strong odor, so we've kinda reluctant to drink water from the faucet directly and the kitchen trash bag ran out pretty quick since we cooked a lot during our stay, so we had to stop by the supermarket nearby.
This winter has brought us more snow than in many years We hope you''ll visit again after the ice melts from the lake and your group can explore its beauty by kayak, canoe or boat. But, as I indicated to you before, we feel that the kitchen chairs should be replaced as they are very uncomfortable. Also, towel bars or racks should be installed in all baths. One additional point I would like to bring to your attention would be that the shower head in the basement bath be replaced.
Very nice speaking with you We also appreciate guest feedback and suggestions on how to make our homes more inviting and comfortable We have added your suggestions to our winter upgrade list and we hope to have you back again soon to experience all of the updates!
We were looking for a special place to stay in Cooperstown that was large enough to accommodate our extended family for my daughter's wedding weekend. The Treehouse and Bird's Nest were definitely the place! They were both very luxurious and immaculate, with all the comforts of home and more! The secluded setting is perfect, yet close enough to town for any activities you or your guests may want to try. Bill the owner was very easy to work with and was also a great resource as we were planning our special day.
We also rented two of his other properties Cayuga and Oneida for the groom's family and the groomsmen and their spouses, along with his Boathouse directly on the lake for the rehearsal dinner. All the accommodations were wonderful! I would highly recommend any of Bill's properties to anyone looking to vacation in the Cooperstown area.
We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay! Liz and I are hopeful that one day we can have a family wedding here and enjoy the homes as much as you did!
Thank you for your appreciation! Eleven friends from around the country gathered at the Treehouse in September for a week of cycling and sightseeing.
We enjoyed cooking dinners in the well-equipped kitchen and being able to park all our bikes in the garage between rides was a real bonus. We arranged for a pontoon rental that was delivered to the dock and went for a happy hour ride around the lake. Bill was great to work with in arranging the rental and responding to assistance with having some bikes shipped to Cooperstown.
Highly recommend this rental for a large group of cyclists--the rides in the area were challenging and scenic. Each year we have a few groups make use of our homes as their base for biking excursions.
Our area offers moderate to challenging trips with great destinations. Consider Cooperstown and its beautiful countryside for one of your bike trips! We just returned from a long weekend in Cooperstown and it was fantastic as usual. Every year, we have a college reunion with two other families and their kids 6 adults, 6 kids and this year was our 3rd time staying at the Treehouse. The house is absolutely beautiful with amazing views.
It is very clean and comfortable for our group of The kids swam and fished off the dock, and we all enjoyed cocktails and smores by the fire pit.
This year, we were also thrilled to see the kitchen had all brand new appliances. The owner, Bill, is always incredibly accommodating and helpful - quick to answer questions or handle any issue that may arise. The house is also close to Glimmerglass and an easy drive into town. I highly recommend staying here! We are always grateful for our growing list of repeat visitors.
And we never get tired of sharing our knowledge of "all things Cooperstown" with our guests! We so enjoyed our stay. Kayaking, boating, swimming, jogging, tennis, some of us visiting the hall of fame, watching fantastic sunsets, star gazing, nitely outdoor fires Ahh, Indian Summer at the lake We really enjoyed this house in Cooperstown. It is a unique and beautiful property and worked very well for our family. We had a large family wedding in Cooperstown with many family members coming from near and far.
The property was a perfect base for all our activities. It has a great layout for a large group of adults and children and had everything that we needed. I would definitely highly recommend to others and hope to get another change for a future stay. Such a great opportunity to bring your friends and family together We are thankful you enjoyed your time at the lodge and we hope to welcome you back again!
I've been to this house for the third time in three years. It is really a perfect location. I've always come in the late summer and love swimming in the lake and just relaxing on the property. In fact I've nevereven been to Cooperstown as I find the property to satisfy every thing I want for a summer getaway. Baseball, museums, orchards, breweries, shopping, opera and playhouses Relax on the dock or the deck, or the patio.
Take a hike and explore the nearby park. We really love to know that some guests just like to really vacation at our home, on the lake, with no need for anything else. Reserve our log home today and come see all that the Cooperstown area has to offer Very spacious and cozy. We needed a place large enough to accommodate all our immediate family for the Cooperstown Hall of Fame Induction ceremony and this cabin was perfect.
The cabin never felt crowded and the views from the deck were amazing. Even with the cool weather we enjoyed spending time on the dock and swimming in the crystal clear water. Even though wifi and cell service was available but limited it really wasn't a factor. The owner went above and beyond to return a forgotten item and was prompt with returning emails and answering any questions we had.
I would definitely recommend The Treehouse for any large gathering. Cooperstown, known as the Home of Baseball, affords visitors all types of recreational and cultural opportunities. Some guests come for boating and water sports, some for the opera or the museums Whether it be to tour The Hall of Fame, to do some research at the Baseball Museum or to watch their child compete at one of the local baseball camps, The Treehouse allows guests space to unwind, cool down with a swim in the lake and maybe to do a little exploring in the kayaks.
And many guests often say the ambiance of the massive logs used to build the structure enhances their ability to relax and disconnect from the hustle of everyday life. Give it a try The week was terrific made even better by the spectacular lake home. The home has everything you would want. Great kitchen with new appliances, large family room looking over the lake and a game room downstairs with foosball. There is great swimming in the lake from the dock and several kayaks and a canoe for kids and adults to use life vests included.
I would highly recommend this house to any family or adults looking for a great lake getaway. We do all that is possible to make our guest's visits as enjoyable as possible. The home, the lake, even the "local" perspective on favorite restaurants and hidden treasures of the area, help our visitors get the most from their vacation time time in Cooperstown.
And when searching for the right place to stay, authentic guest reviews are the real keys to making the right choice for your family! Thank you for your kind remarks! There are many accommodations to choose from in the area and numerous large brokers from which to rent. Take note that these mass consolidators provide guests with NO ability to post reviews of their experiences. Very clean, well maintained, beautiful, comfortable home.
About 10 minutes from Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame. We had everything we needed! We would definitely return! Every year we get more and more repeat guests to our luxury homes. Many first time visitors come because their sons are playing in the baseball camps. We are fortunate to welcome back a few of these families in the following years because they want more time to really enjoy the lake, the homes, and all that they missed on their first visit.
Book your vacation NOW! Swim in our crystal clear and clean lake. Relax with friends and stroll our villages. And then, we'll see you next year, again! Cayuga and Oneida Lodge included a lakeside, heated swimming pool, which our families really enjoyed, even though it was late September — early October. All homes are directly on Lake Otsego with direct access to the lake and docks, in fact we rented a person pontoon boat to allow our guests to easily commute between the homes, which added another layer of excitement to this memorable extended weekend wedding celebration.
Remaining family members and guests stayed at the Otesaga Resort and Hotel, just ten minutes away, at the south end of the lake. All homes were spotlessly clean, immaculately maintained and well outfitted. Our family and friends were elated with their accommodations and remarkable vistas. From the amazing fall foliage and early morning fog rolling across the lake, to the lily pads glistening in the evening twilight and starlit skies, the views were ever changing, tranquil, and extraordinarily beautiful.
Bill, the owner and builder of these spectacular homes, was more gracious and accommodating than you could ever expect, and was able to assist us in finding the best caterer, event, and boat rental companies in the area. He and property caretaker, Ken, took extra measures to ensure that the entire property was in pristine condition for the wedding, and beyond.
The reviews are in — neither our guests, nor we will ever forget our destination wedding in Cooperstown, NY. We will be forever grateful to Bill, with special thanks to Ken for making our stay a one-of-a-kind experience.
Thanks Bill for a terrific stay in an absolutely beautiful house palace? The wood work, the views, the fireplace, everything was just perfect. We appreciate the recognition of the craftsmanship! We believe details make all the difference I can't say enough great things about my recent stay at this magnificent home of Bill and Liz.
Located just 6 miles from the Baseball Hall of Fame and other attractions in the heart of Cooperstown, their home was ideal for a quick weekend getaway with my family. Whether you want to be right on the lake for summer activities or sitting by the fireplace in their large log cabin home during the winter months, I highly recommend staying here during any time of the year. The house was extremely clean, well kept, linens and towels were ready for use in all bedrooms, and even the fireplace was set up for instant use if we would have liked.
I'm looking forward to my next trip up to Cooperstown, whenever that may be, and certainly staying at Bill and Liz's house again.
Thank you for a wondering weekend! As a biking and driving enthusiast, Lake Road, between The Treehouse and Cooperstown is one of my favorites! Cruising along high above the shimmering water with towering trees dappling the sunlight For the second year in a row, we 6 adults and 6 kids spent Columbus day weekend at the Treehouse.
The house is wonderful, with great views and plenty of room for all of us. It is spotless and very comfortable. The yard is wooded, private, with a large fire pit, perfect for roasting marshmallows. It leads right down to the beautiful lake.
The kids loved the floating "bouncy" dock and swam, even though it was October. The adults fished and used the kayaks. It was a magical weekend! Bill, the owner, could not have been more accommodating. When we called him with questions, he was responsive and beyond helpful.
He gave us many recommendations and was so accessible. I would highly recommend renting for any large group. It was a blast! We have The Treehouse reserved for your annual visit and look forward to seeing you and the gang again! Cannot give enough accolades to this beautiful luxury home.
The setting, the home, the amenities all were beyond our group's expectations. The house was immaculate and all the appliances in great shape. It was a perfect spot for our college "girls" weekend reunion.
And it certainly is perfect for large groups and families. Cooperstown and the surround area were delightful and just a short ride. Girl's weekends, Golf Getaway's, Family Retreats and vacations The ambiance inside and outside of our retreats allows guests to connect with each other in a comfortable and exceptional style! Give us a call to learn more about a perfect retreat! Spent a girls weekend getaway in this amazing lakefront home on beautiful Otsego lake in Cooperstown.
Exquisite luxury log home, just breathtaking ,when you walk in the door, you just have to say, Wow! Bill, the owner was so accommodating and couldn't have been nicer. A short drive into Cooperstown for dining and shopping, Glimmerglass park just down the road for a hike but we always looked forward to getting back to the house, sunsets on the deck with cocktails, all your stress just melts away.
This home is the perfect location and we can't wait to come back. Thank you again Bill , we had a wonderful time! Our homes are different from almost all of the others in the area; CooperstownLuxury. Whether its a weekend getaway or a week-long vacation, any one of our homes will provide a perfect back drop to a memorable trip with family and friends. Give us a call today and let us help you plan a perfect escape!
I have looked at many vacation rentals in search of the perfect house to host my friends from overseas and none of them come close to this magnificent log palace.
It's very well designed so that people can enjoy the beautiful surrounding nature, get together to chat in a group, share the experience of cooking, or just hang out and BBQ on the deck. My friends especially loved the floating pontoon and taking the canoes out in the morning. The whole area is magical and seeing the deer roaming in the forest made it even more special. The park nearby was perfect for our group since we loved playing volleyball on the sand court and running along the nearby trails.
The Treehouse is perfectly located From here, Glimmerglass State Park is a 5 minute walk or 10 minute paddle away. Deer, Bald eagles, and all kinds of wildlife can be observed from the deck. Come see Cooperstown and experience a stay in a magical home! This was the second year a group of friends and I rented this cabin for a weekend.
Actually, it's not really a cabin but a mini-mansion with 30 foot ceilings and gorgeous finishing details. The home is absolutely stunning and spotless; the gardens are immaculately kept; and the lakeside view is breath-taking.
The home is stocked with utensils, pots, pans, etc. There's a great gas grill and kayaks and canoes for the lake. We just cooked our hearts out, but nearby Cooperstown is a great little hamlet for a diversion. The owner is a great guy and is incredibly accommodating. I hope to come back here for many many years to come. Crowds have thinned out and the lake is still warm for swimming and kayaking.
Bring your friends and family to one of our luxury retreats and create memories for a lifetime! I took my travel ball team to Cooperstown last August and sent my family to the Tree House.
The home was amazing and exceeded our expectations. The only problem was that I spent the week in the dorms while the rest of the family enjoyed the wonderful accomodation.
The home is a few miles outside of town which makes it all the more enjoyable and the drive to and from the Dreams Park took about 25 minutes each way. It takes about 15 minutes to get into town. I highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Cooperstown. If I had to do it over again I would have spent an extra week at the house after the tournament. Easy to deal with the owner and he promptly answered all of our questions.
The concept of vacation home rental is still a relatively new concept to many travelers. No doubt it is very quickly gaining ground as an superior manner in which to vacation with families and friends. My wife and I manage our homes professionally and believe timely and succinct communication throughout the entire transaction forms the basis for a successful transaction. Our goal is to provide our guests with an forgettable vacation experience.
Our families had an amazing time at Cooperstown Dreams Park. OUr stay at the Treehouse added to our wonderful memories. The Treehouse offers stunning views, first class construction and spacious interior. The Millers have succeeded in creating a home away from home. I would recommend this for any family that is looking for memories that will be nothing but wonderful. Its a real compliment to receive from guests: As the owners of several fine lake front properties, our goal is to provide visitors with the comforts of home in a unique environment We want to share an experience, not just a home.
Come and make The Treehouse your home for a weekend or week and explore all that Cooperstown and the surrounding area has to offer. Whether we were hanging out on the huge deck overlooking the water, swimming or kayaking on the lake, roasting marshmallows at the lakeside firepit, or chatting in the beautiful wooded den, this house was perfect! The owner was very helpful and clearly takes excellent care of his property.
We wouldn't hesitate to come back or recommend this home to our friends and family. Our guests and our own family really enjoy the "lake-side" of our lodge; whether its sunning on the main deck looking out at the lake, sunsets at the patio right at the water's edge, swimming and fishing from the dock, or toasting marshmallows on the big fire pit, the proximity to such a beautiful and clean body of water makes vacation time at The Treehouse very special.
My family along with 2 other families stayed at the Treehouse property. The house was lovely and spacious enough for each family to have their own space. We shared many meals around the huge kitchen table and totally enjoyed our time at the house. The only downfall about the week was that the road was washed out a few miles from the property which was the direct route to Dreamspark.
We navigated around it and enjoyed the lovely farm country. During the month of June central New York State was hit very hard by severe storms. While areas just north of our home experienced loss of life and the total destruction of many homes, Cooperstown residents considered themselves lucky with the main damage being the closure of several roads. The resulting detour added about 6 miles to the distance to town through the rolling hills of Otsego County.
We appreciated the patience of our guests for this inconvenience. The reconstruction of the road is due for completion by end of August and the drive to town will be back to about 10 minutes. Our stay at the log home was better in person than even in the pictures showed on the VRBO. We were in Cooperstown for the Field of Dreams baseball tournament. The home accommodated three families very easily. Our kids fished off the dock, played baseball in the back yard, and had a blast on the water park that you can have docked just off the property.
All in all this is one of the nicest properties I have stayed at on vacation and will rent it again when my nephews are old enough to play in Cooperstown. In addition to hosting families of baseball campers, our home makes an ideal location for family reunions, celebrations, and get togethers of any kind.
Plenty of space indoors and out, bon fire pit by the shore and a huge wood burning fireplace in the great room! Come and escape the ordinary! Hi Bill, it was great to finally meet you. We had a fantastic time at the cottage and all the new people that stayed with us also loved it. The water trampoline was a huge hit with the kids and it kept them very busy and out of our hair.
The Treehouse is definitely a one of a kind, my younger son, Eric, wanted to take one last look around before we left because he felt that we would never be back again. These kinds of things are what memories are made of. Thanks again Bill, hope to be back soon. As our homes continue to gain in popularity with year round visitors to the Cooperstown area, it's reassuring to have guests plan a second visit to our homes And we very much appreciate the word of mouth referrals from guests that often results in additional visits from family and friends.
Our goal is to share a true "lake-country" living experience allowing visitors to "taste" Cooperstown like a local!! We found everything to be in good repair except one of the coffee pots and exactly as you described it.
I could not have wished for a better location or more character in a house. What a wonderful serene place to kick back with the family.
My parents loved the enhanced privacy of a separate guest cottage. Even though the weather was on the cool side and I am wimpy, we still swam in the lake, paddled around, and used the inflatable.
My eight year old and I also went to Clark Center to swim, and enjoyed the warm pool and the diving board, too. Thank you for recommending The Blue Mingo: We went there 3 times. The food is great, the location in unbeatable, live music is an unexpected bonus, and the souvenir shop has a good buyer at a great price point.
The trip to the Russian Orthodox Monastery at Jordanville was a 30 minute easy drive. It's a beautiful detour, and an unexpected foray into a long gone world.
I would add it to the list of the nearby places of interest. Again, Many thanks for letting us use your lovely home. The Russian Holy Trinity Monastery is a very unusual and interesting day trip and we are glad you so enjoyed it! Our central New York State area has many perfect day-trip destinations. Often over-looked are the caverns at Howe Caverns, about 45 minutes from our home.
There simply aren't many places where you can descend hundreds of feet in an elevator and take a boat boat amongst the stalactites and stalagmites! The Treehouse is a unique property perfectly positioned for a Cooperstown getaway.
The spacious house comfortably accomodated our group. We all enjoyed the unique furnishings. Our only mishap was not finding any flashlights, matches, lighters, etc. I'm sure the owner will remedy this for the next guests. We spent a long weekend at the "Treehouse" for my Father's 60th birthday and the home met all our expectations.
There was plenty of room for all of us to sleep comfortably and the view of the lake when we woke up was spectacular. Seeing this home in person was certainly just as incredible as the photos. The location was great with a quick 6 mile drive along the lake into town. We had planned on going out to dinner one night, but with the large chef's kitchen, outdoor grill, a kitchen table that could fit all 9 of us, and back deck and sitting area overlooking the lake there was no reason to leave.
Bill was great to deal with and always responded in a timely manner to any questions or concerns we had. I would like to go back sometime in the summer when it is warmer to enjoy the lake. Don't miss out on this great experience as it is truly unique living in this luxury log home. We would definitely return for another stay. The only negative comment I have is that it was a little too early in the season that the dock by the lake was not yet in the water.
Fantastic getaway decision for a cozy spring break More than spacious for 10 people. The treehouse was loaded with state of the art amenities. The fireplace was the perfect backdrop for our evening fun! The wintery backdrop was spectacular. We will most definitely return!
