Throughout the season the team was burdened with several injuries, but we did not let such obstacles keep us from working even harder to win. Everyone's hard effort shined during practice and during games.

Our team spirit and love for the game helped keep the team morale high through victory and defeat. We developed strong bonds that could not and will not ever be broken, with lasting memories both on and off the field. We wish the best for the team in the upcoming seasons. We qualified for the State Tournament foranothereonseentive year and boasted three All-Stars: Along with these aceomplishments we had a lot of fun on and off the course.

I want to thank all the guys on the team for making my final SHS golf season an awesome one. Zack lines up his shot. Mike gets ready to putt for a birdie. Tommy shows off the proper grip. Jonathan hopes his drive lands on the green. Joe scores some big points for the team. During our senior vol- leyball season, ourteani was rewarded with both of these forms of victory. Although a lot of work was required to become Middlesex League champions, our under- lying inspiration was launched by how well we got along and how much FUN we had.

From dreidels to blue hair to costume par- ties to battering the football team with water balloons to accessorizing the soccer boys' cars with certain "interesting" items to simply peppering and laughing; in the end we shocked 'em all. Renection over the last year transpires with an enormous wave of positive energy. We feel privileged to have worked with a group of such genuinely warm-hearted girls. The girls strategize in their team huddle AIR Kristen! For ourselves, the runners, a team was formed from a tightly-knit group of fun-loving individuals who give competition a good name. Our distinct personalities came together to transform thirteen strangers into best friends and, more importantly, cohesive teammates.

The group this year had great talent, hut we would never have achieved anything without the hard work and dedication that every member put forth along with the unwavering guidance and support provided by Coach Norton. Every memory of this season is won- derful. We know that the younger members of the team will give the same strong effort next year. With each success, remember that Emily, Alissa and Carolyn will be rooting for you every step of the way.

The girls stop admiring themselves and prepare for their race. Riley for a coach. Second year coach, Mr. Riley, led the Spartan Harriers to a 8- 1 record. On the state level, we started out strong with a 5th place finish at Bay State Invitational. At the Catholic Memorial Invitational tlie Spartans finished in 6th. Stoneham was led by seniors James Keefe. James Kelly, Tim Judge. Brendan Lowell, Dan Mahoney. Ray Scarpone, and Brian Vatcher.

Juniors who were a great asset to the team this year were Alex Devlin and Erik Nardone. To say that this year was fun and success- ful would be an understatement. Jen Grossi, Kelly Brown. Meghan Daly, and Stephanie Bilderhack. Thanks everyone and good luck to future squads. Jill Cunningham, Krystal Bullet. Amanda nanilchuk I'mRi Row: Although we had lost many players to graduation, we were confident with one another. During the off-season, everyone worked hard to improve their game by playing indoor soccer, spring soccer, and summer soccer.

In the spring we entered a tournament and were co-champions how ironic! The most important aspect of our off-season work was not the training and skills gained, but the team unity and friendships we were building. The friendships we made this season will last forever and we will never forget each other.

Being a young team without much varsity soccer e. In those games against Melrose and Lexington, we felt we should have come away with victories. After two solid wins against Woburn and Wakefield, it felt like we were ready to roll. In our game against Winchester, we were beaten both physically and mentally and it made us get down on ourselves.

After a meeting with just the players, we said that we would not let that happen ever again. That day we were back at practice working even harder with more determination to reach our goal -- to win the Middlesex League Title.

In our much anticipated rematch against league leading Winchester we tied, tying us with them for the lead. We needed help from another team when Belmont tied Winchester to put us ahead for good. We finished up our season with a win against Reading, clinching the Middlesex League Championship.

On our way home from the game we were escorted down Main Street by a fire engine. Knowing that the community cared and was supporting us meant a lot to us. We used all our momentum and success to help us in the tournament. In the Division 3 State Tournament we were selected as the 2nd seed and received home field advantage for the first two games. So far we were undefeated at home. Our first game was against a tough Swampscott team who we easily defeated 6 - I.

In the second round we drew an Austin Prep team that was on a long win streak. After going up on two quick goals by Jason Ring, the game evened out and was tied at 3 - 3. Billy Gardner then drew a penalty kick that allowed us to score and win 4 - 3. Our North Semifinal game was against a very good Bedford team.

After falling behind 1 - 0, Mike DeSantis scored two goals leading us to a dramatic come-from-behind victory. The North Finals were against a familiar opponent in Wayland, who knocked us out of the tournament the previous year. In the Semifinal game against Medway.

Chris Moran scored an early goal to give us a lead that held up the entire game due to great defending by Steve Salerno, Adam Kennedy, J. The State Finals against Sutton followed. The game ended in a tie after two scoreless overtimes. Ending in a tie was disappointing to all of us. Throughout the entire season we rose to the task and did what we needed to do. We really played hard and we were cool, calm, and collected under pressure.

Billy Gardner, Jeff Kirkland. Danny D' Ambrosio, Jason Ring. Coach Carino 1 - DeSantis gets a head up on the competition. Our record says it all! Our season was awesome and we always played with heart. We did what we had to do, and enjoyed every minute of it! We're still the only ones who appreciate both Roses and Lotus Blossoms and who find it hysterical to gossip about our Lnten.

As a group we were inseparable and we'll forever be known as the team that shut the man down! The past few months have been unforgettable and we love you guys The real most likely to bust a move. We came out strong in the league winning our first two games. The rest of the season was not a success in the win column but the effort was definitely there.

Our season overall did not provide us with the wins we wanted hut it did bring us unforgettable memories and lifelong friendships. We will never forget the way BA used to light up innocent quarterbacks or the way Josh would spin for 2 or 3 extra yards on every play. W'e will never forget the way Greavesy ran when he was at his best nor the way Silva played in those memorable 5 plays. Harry will always be our smallest, healthiest, but still one of our best linemen. How could we forget Casey knocking wideouts out and screaming in their face as they lay on the ground.

We will always wonder how Demitri broke up all those wedges on kickoff without ever being phased by it. Now as we take our next big step in life, let us not forget our days of football.

We have a bond between us as a football team, which cannot be broken. We will never forget each other, nor the friendships we made with the underclass- men. We will always be a part of Spartan football for we are the building blocks of a successful Stoneham program.

Good luck to next year's team and to football teams for years to come. Thanks for the memories. Joe Sabbagh, Jim Zinchuk. J f ields, HO Hrien. This year we swam to a much more competetive record, ending the season with 5 wins and 5 losses, and ranking. One of the most memorable meets this past season was the meet against Burlington. Coming down to the very last relay, we were neck in neck with Burlington valiantly defeating them by seconds.

This meet proved to be a foreshadowing of what we would continue to do throughout the rest of the season. Practices became harder, times dri pped and personal records were broken.

Contributing to our successful season and the aura of the team was veteran senior Leanna Farnum and newcomer Christina McCarthy. Leanna brought much to the team with her hardworking attitude and much needed points in meets to help us reach that win.

Not only did we swim hard but played hard. The memories we "swimmies" had this season will never be forgotten. Good luck seniors, we'll miss you! Remember to always "just add water! Coach Deacon, I Christina and Leanna receive their senior rose.

Chelsea Rudomen SiccoNi Row: Coach Mitchell, Jillian Mansfield. We finished off the season with a respectable record of in the highly competitive Middlesex League. Our team was led by Captains Jon Garcia.

Brendan O'Brien, and Frank Carino led the squad. In addition, the 4x meter relay team of Kelly. Vatcher, Garcia, and Junior Chris Botelho placed second in the Class C state meet and later went on to break the school record in the same event. Finally, the seniors would like to thank Coaches Powers, Riley.

It was they who taught us to strive for improvement, to create attainable goals, and to never accept any less than the best from ourselves.

We would also like to wish the best of luck to the Spartan underclassmen in their future seasons. James Zinchuk, Frank Carino.

Chris Doody, James Keefe. Kevin Burke, Tim Judge. Rob Duffy, Sean Sarkar. Scott DeAmicis, Chris Botelho. William King, Mark Winsor. We competed m one of the most competitive leagues in the state with a team that was numerically one- fourth the size of most.

As Coach Norton would often say, "Each meet was nip and tuck. Each team member often competed in two or more events to fill a void whenever possible. Opposing teams found themselves intimidated by our small team's spirit, which was demonstrated by our colorful t-shirts, single file warm ups, Avril Lavigne "concerts.

Everyone made significant improvements throughout the season because, "when we go. Our small size was our best quality, as we bonded through team events and pasta parties. Carolyn goes over the hi jump with ease. Carolyn and Jessica are ready to win. Nicole Falzone, Gina Maisatio. Jessica Chiachio I'niKi Row: Alicia gracefully shows us how the high jump is done.

Alissa gets ready to pass her nemesis. Although our record may indicate a losing season, we won. Our team had so much spirit and unity that when the season ended, it seemed it had just begun. The season got off to a rocky start. Our coach for as long as we can remember retired, so we needed to become acquainted with a new coach.

Danielle Boyd did all she could to become part of the team right away. During the first weeks of the season, she got to know us and we got to know her. Coach McNeil, who we have loved and admired for the last four years, helped ease the pressure we felt because of the change in head coach.

We love our team and all the unique individuals who compose it. We will miss them greatly. Also, we would like to thank our fellow teammates and coaches for making our final season the best ever. W'e love you all and will remember each and every one of you.

Becky Buttiglieri, Annie Riley. Becky perfected her shoot-over on uneven bars. Stephanie maintained her all-around top spot. Christine succeeded in achieving the perfect back tuck. This year's season did not prove to be as promising as the team had hoped, lint that is not to say that onr season was a bad one. Although our 4- 1 6 record doesn't show much, we liad matiy dose games that we could have won.

We lost in overtime to Cathedral, by 2 points against Burlington, by 5 points to Reading, and only I point against third place Winchester. It we had woti a couple of those gatiies our season could have changed drastically. Our team w as a senior heavy team. For the second half of the year our whole starting lineup was seniors. At center was Captain Danny Doherty. Doherty was our most consistent offensive player and a great shot blocker. In every gatne you could expect Danny to have at least 10 points and 2 blocks.

At the power forward position was Joe Sabbagh. Joe was always there on the defensive end, covering the opposing team's big man and always stepping in to take a charge. On the offensive end Joe had a good jump shot, and we could count on him having around 7 rebounds.

Casey O' Hearn was the team's small forward. Casey was a good. In one game against Winchester, Casey held one of the top three players in the league to only 4 points. O' Hearn was always flying around the court making things happen on defense. At pomt guard was Captain Jason Ring. As the point guard. Ring directed the offense and spretid the ball around. At shooting guard was Jeff Kirkland. Kirkland was the team's most explosive offensive player.

Kirkland had games of. Off the bench were seniors Dave Harrington. Adam Kennedy, and Ryan McCormack. Dan Doherty Second Row: Ryan McCormack, Jeff Kirkland. Jason DeFilippo, Coach Killilea. This was a great. Never forget dressing up. We love you girls! Make us proud next year!

Kai boxes lie Linioi out tun ite opponent Jen Serrano soars to the hoop. Despite the large amount ot'new girls on the team, we have become a great scjuad.

We could have never accomplished what we have done without them. Our incredible Coach Lisa Walsh always pushed us and moti- vated us to be the best that we could be. We were able to host the Middlesex League Cheering Competition in Stoneham this year and we were excited about that. Over the years, we have had so many great memories and we have made long lasting friendships. The underclassmen have stepped up and have shown great leadership qualities.

Although it will be hard to leave them behind next year, they will be prepared to carry the team along to another year of competition. We have had fun and an incredible season. Good luck and we love you! Shannon Bilderback, Allison Casella. Katie integrates her kiing foo fighting skills with her cheers, Chantelle shimmies One last Hoorah! RealK we should have finished and even that record can be deceiving. Our team this year could have been in the post season but we suffered some tough, disappointing losses to Wakefield, Burlington and Melrose.

We ditln't lose to those teams because they were better than us or because we didn't work hard, but because the puck just didn't bounce our way. We have a hunch of great players and we know that the si.

We had some great times this season. We went out to Prince, hud pasta parties and hung out as a team. The seniors were the heart and soul of the team. Ross O' Meara was a force on offense along with C. Mossali and league all-star Tommy Sodergren. He was a force both defensively and offensively. The team would not have won the six games they did w ithout the senior leadership. Next year's team looks promising and we wish them luck.

Ross keeps his eye on the puck. Danny heads after the puck Mike changes direction on the tly Mike, Steve. We have progressed very quickly for a second year learn.
